My Drunken Irish Soda Bread

Not every recipe I make is strait from my Noggin. One of the skills of a great Home Cook is finding something on Google or a cookbook that sings to you. I change a couple aspects and it instantly becomes part of my recipe box.

This is one of my Favorite Things at the Holiday, Martha Stewart has been a huge cooking and baking influence on my journey. So here goes Martha and Cissy’s Soda Bread

3 ½ cups King Arthur All-purpose Flour
½ cupsugar
2 tablespoonscaraway seeds
2 teaspoonsbaking powder
1 teaspoonsalt
½ teaspoonbaking soda
2 large eggs
2 cupssour cream
¾ cupraisins ( soaked in Hot Guiness

Mix it all the ingredients except the Raisins. I put them in Guinness! I have warmed in the microwave. Let them soak a good 20 minutes, GET EM DRUNK! Then combine them in and free form dough into shape you want! I love to do this one in a flattened round. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Remove and cool before serving. ANYONE CAN COOK, you just need to take a recipe and Make it YOURS!
