Wicked Hand Pies Part 1

One of my most favorite things to eat in the world is a Hand Pie. They are the perfect traveling meal. THEY ARE PERFECT! They are easy to prep ahead and warm up when needed! But I do stand behind , Fresh is Best!

You will need items that you would use to make a warm sandwich. They work best and a Great pizza dough recipe. So you can use the one I provide or GOOGLE your own! For todays purpose I will be showing you Primavera(Vegetable Option), Cheese Steak and Cuban. However you are only limited by your own creativity.

Dough is easy and Simple. 2 cups Flour, 1 Cup Hot water, 1 package Quick Rise Yeast, 2 Tsp. oil, 1 tsp salt and 2 tsp Sugar .. Lets keep this simple. Fill a Measuring Cup with the water, then add the package of yeast and sugar. Set this aside and start your dough. Flour , Salt into mixing bowl. Add yeast mixture in 5 minutes after yeast has bloomed. Begin mixing and add oil . When dough pulls from side of Bowl your ready. Oil a large bowl and place dough to rise for 15 minutes. My Hint: Cover bowl with Towel and sit on top of stove while oven preheats to make Hand Pies.

Once your dough has doubled in size you will roll it our in a circular shape. Fill with your desired filling and fold the sides in to make a sealed edge. I always brush my handpies with an egg wash before baking. Bake for 15 minutes and you are ready to go.

In part 2 I will give you some Filling recipes. Anyone Can Cook, one step at a time!
